Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using VoiceInk ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Software.

VoiceInk is available under a dual-licensing model:

Open Source License (GNU GPL v3.0)

The source code of VoiceInk is licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0, which means you can:

• Access, study, and modify the source code
• Compile and run the application from source
• Distribute modified versions (must also be under GPL v3.0)
• Use the code in your own GPL v3.0 projects

Commercial License (End User License Agreement)

The pre-compiled version of VoiceInk, available through our website, is offered under a commercial license that provides:

• Ready-to-use pre-compiled application
• Automatic updates and new feature releases
• Technical support

The commercial license is a one-time purchase that grants you:

• A personal, non-transferable right to use the compiled application
• Usage on the number of devices specified in your purchase plan
• Access to all current and future updates
• The right to keep and use any version released during your license term

VoiceInk processes all audio locally by default. Cloud services are entirely optional and require you to provide your own API key from a supported provider.

When using optional cloud features, you acknowledge that:

• Cloud transcription: Your audio data is sent to the cloud transcription provider you selected. You are responsible for reviewing that provider's terms and privacy policy
• AI enhancement: Only the transcribed text (not audio) is sent to your selected enhancement provider. You are responsible for reviewing that provider's terms
• You are solely responsible for obtaining and managing your API keys
• VoiceInk is not designed to store, log, or access the content you process through third-party providers. We only receive information you choose to share with us directly, such as when reporting a bug

Supported providers include Groq, OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Mistral, Deepgram, ElevenLabs, Speechmatics, Soniox, Cerebras, and OpenRouter, as well as custom OpenAI-compatible endpoints. Each provider operates independently and is subject to its own terms of service and privacy policy.

The following restrictions apply only to the compiled, distributed version of VoiceInk:

• You may not redistribute the compiled application
• You may not use the compiled application on more devices than your license permits
• You may not remove or modify any license or copyright notices from the compiled application

The Software may automatically download and install updates. These updates are designed to improve, enhance, and further develop the Software and may include bug fixes, enhanced functions, new software modules, and completely new versions.

This license is effective until terminated. Your rights under this license will terminate automatically without notice if you fail to comply with any of its terms.

We want you to be completely satisfied with VoiceInk. If you are not satisfied, you may request a refund within 14 days of your purchase date.

To be eligible for a refund:

• The refund request must be made within 14 days of purchase
• You must provide a valid reason for the refund request
• The software must be uninstalled from all devices

To request a refund, please contact us with your order details. Approved refunds are processed within 5–7 business days to your original payment method.

The Software is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind. VoiceInk disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, VoiceInk shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Software or any third-party cloud services you integrate with it.
