Prompt Management
Create and edit prompts to control how AI Enhancement and Assistant Mode behave.
What a Prompt Does
A prompt tells the AI how to process your dictated text. It controls what AI enhancement does with your transcripts, from cleaning up grammar to answering questions.
System Instructions
System instructions are built-in commands wrapped around your prompt. They set the AI's identity as VoiceInk's transcription editor and provide the overall framework for how the text should be processed.
When Use System Template is enabled, your prompt is combined with a general-purpose template that improves transcription quality. This is the default and works best for most enhancement tasks.
When to Disable System Instructions
Disable system instructions if you are using the prompt for anything other than transcription enhancement:
- Rewriting existing text
- Answering questions in Assistant Mode
- Any workflow where you need full control over the AI's behavior
When disabled, your prompt text is sent directly to the AI without the system template wrapping.
